Next Crop Volleyball Academy is a 6-week high-performance training program held at Hamiota Collegiate Institute designed to prepare junior varsity and varsity athletes (Grades 9–12) from rural Westman for their upcoming high school volleyball seasons. Led by Kailan Robinson, Head Coach of Brandon University, the academy offers a comprehensive approach to athlete development with a focus on both technical skills and game play. Each weekly session includes targeted skill development with the support of video analysis, as well as structured game scenarios to apply learned concepts in real-time.

The academy was created by Kailan with a vision to support rural athletes, inspired by her own roots in Hamiota, Manitoba. She believes that every athlete—regardless of geographical location—deserves access to elite-level training and mentorship. Next Crop Volleyball Academy is her way of filling that gap for rural volleyball players who often lack local, high-performance training opportunities. Registration Priority:Open to girls and boys from 'A' and 'AA' schools. If space allows, athletes from larger schools may be accepted after registration closes.

The program is proud to partner with Countryside Studio & Gym (CSG), whose owner Kayce shares Kailan’s commitment to rural athlete development. Kayce believes in empowering small-town athletes with big-time training, making CSG a natural fit for the academy's mission. Together, they offer athletes the chance to grow both on the court and in the gym.

In partnership with Countryside Studio & Gym (CSG), athletes will also benefit from strength and conditioning training tailored specifically for volleyball performance. Training sessions will run on Sundays starting July 6, with JV and Varsity groups alternating between on-court and gym sessions. JV athletes will train on-court from 9:00–10:30 AM, followed by CSG training from 10:30–11:30 AM. Varsity athletes begin in the gym for CSG training from 9:30–10:30 AM, then transition to the court from 10:30 AM–12:30 PM. Current university athletes will be present to support and mentor participants throughout the program.

NOTE** There will be no Academy on the August long weekend. Therefore the dates of the Academy are as follows: July 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th and August 10th and 17th.
